Proof of Address (POA) and Identity Verification (ID&V)
When are Proof of Address (POA) and Identity Verification (ID&V) required?
Proof of Address (POA) is mandatory for users whose nationality falls under a Red Market, as advised by Visa. The requirement for Identity Verification (ID&V) is subject to review by StraitsX Compliance. Accordingly, any User Creation request for a user with a Red Market nationality will be rejected if the required POA is not submitted.
POA Document Requirements
Valid Document
The submitted document must:
- Clearly show the customer's name and residential address
- Have a visible issue date
- Be clear, complete, and legible; scanned copies are accepted
- Be an original document (not a photocopy)
- Show the issuer's company name and/or official logo
Recency
- First submission: The document must be issued within the last 12 months of the submission date
- Resubmissions (following rejection): The document must be issued within the last 6 months of the submission date
Accepted Document Types
- Bank/Financial Institution statements or letters
- Insurance statements or letters
- Utility bills (electricity and water)
- Telco bills
- Government-issued documents
- National ID/IC/Driver License (Must show the residential address, expiry date, and still be valid)
- Lease/Tenancy Agreement (Singapore only)
ID&V Document Requirements
Submit the ID&V result your KYC provider provided.
POA and/or ID&V Resubmission
Upon a POA and/or ID&V document rejection, users are allowed up to 3 attempts to resubmit for another review. Each attempt window is 360 hours (15 days). You can utilize the Update User API to submit new documents.
